Protective Security, Response & Resilience Compendium 2026
Scotland Edition. One reference for everything you need to protect people at your premises or events.
What it is
A single reference covering protective security and emergency preparedness, tailored specifically to Scotland and aligned to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 and current national guidance.
It is a working reference. You do not read it cover to cover. You start with the first 30 days section, then use the relevant parts and appendices as the questions come up.

The person who carries the responsibility
Owners, general managers, operations, facilities and security managers, event organisers, and anyone acting for the responsible person at hotels, licensed premises, visitor attractions, venues and events.
You do not need a security background to use it. It assumes you are capable and busy, and that what you need is the answer.
What is inside
- Martyn's Law explained. Who is in scope, standard and enhanced tier, and what each one actually requires of you.
- The threat picture. The current position and the attack methods that matter for premises like yours.
- Physical and personnel security. Access control, CCTV, search and screening, security zones, insider risk and vetting.
- Cyber and personal security. The parts of both that affect a venue operation.
- Hostile reconnaissance and suspicious items. What to look for, what to do, and how to report it in Scotland.
- Emergency response and life safety. Evacuation, invacuation, lockdown, bomb threats and recovery.
- Fifteen working appendices. Readiness checklist, bomb threat checklist, good housekeeping, CCTV, access control, search planning, personnel security, suspicious activity report, M/ETHANE, contacts and reporting routes, and more. All copyable and adaptable under the licence.
- Start here: your first 30 days. So you know what to do on the Monday after you buy it.

The depth of the gap analysis, risk assessments and open source intelligence products went well beyond our expectations. Following the engagement, we have chosen to continue working with 504 and are exploring further opportunities for collaboration.
