504 Risk Management and Security

About 504

You will deal with the same person from the first site visit to the final report. That is the whole proposition.

Graeme Young

504 Risk Management & Security is led by Graeme Young. Over twenty years' experience in the security industry and the prison service underpin his operational credibility and strategic leadership experience, which means the advice you receive has been tested in live environments rather than drawn from a manual.

His specialist depth sits in counter terrorism, protective security and advanced behavioural detection. He also serves as a Non Executive Director in a governance and audit capacity for a Scottish charity.

  • Counter terrorism: specialist knowledge of national counter terrorism strategy and its practical application to premises and events.
  • Protective security: assessment, planning and assurance across large estates and public facing premises.
  • Advanced behavioural detection: trained in identifying hostile reconnaissance and pre incident indicators through covert and overt observation.
  • Strategic facilities management leadership: senior operational responsibility for services delivered across a large multi site estate.
  • Business continuity and resilience: planning, exercising and response across complex organisations.
Dual SIA licensed. 504 works with private sector clients only.

Community venue assessment

Nothing to sell you but the advice.

Much of the security market makes its money downstream of the recommendation. If a supplier's income depends on you buying cameras, barriers, guarding hours or a software subscription, the assessment that recommends them is not independent, however well intentioned the person writing it.

504 holds no reseller agreements, no supplier commissions and no product line. If the honest answer is that your existing measures are adequate and you need a two hour staff briefing rather than a programme of works, that is the answer you will get. It is a slower way to build a business and a better way to keep clients.

What an engagement actually looks like.

No discovery calls with a salesperson, no proposal deck, no six week onboarding.

  • A conversation. Fifteen minutes on the phone is usually enough to establish whether there is a job here and what it looks like.
  • A site visit. No obligation and no charge. Seeing the premises is the only way to give an opinion worth having.
  • A verbal summary on the day. You will know the headline findings before we leave, not three weeks later.
  • Concise written findings. Prioritised, plain English, and short enough that your board will read it.
Based in Scotland's Central Belt, working across Scotland and UK wide. Travel beyond the Central Belt is agreed in advance and charged at cost.

You will not see our clients named here.

We do not publish client names, case studies or venue details. Security work involves knowing where an organisation is weak, and that is not information to be used as marketing. Clients can expect the same discretion applied to them.

References are available on request, with the client's permission, at the point where a serious conversation warrants them.
